Benefit of Fasting

           Phenomenal benefits occur when fasting is done. During the initial days of a fast, usually the toughest phase, large quantities of waste flood the blood stream, ready to be flushed out. The body throws out waste through every pore, perceptibly as a thick coat on the tongue and a foul breath emanating from the mouth.

            As the fast extends, the cleaning process is perfected, cleansing the body off fat, diseased cells, and mucus. When people undertake extended fasts, even toxins accumulated in the cells are removed. Diseased cells, dead cells, thickened coating of mucus on the intestinal wall, waste from - blood stream, liver, spleen, and kidney make an exit from the body. The body holds on to important minerals and vitamins throwing out toxins and old tissues. When the toxic load of the body is lessened, the efficiency of each cell is enhanced. This promotes healing. Thus during a fast, the body is on a ‘conserve energy’ and ‘healing’ mode.

Stop Water pollution

Dumping of litter in the Water can cause huge problems.Different items take different lengths of time to degrade in water:

Cardboard – Takes 2 weeks to degrade.
Newspaper – Takes 6 weeks to degrade.
Photodegradable packaging – Takes 6 weeks to degrade.
Foam – Takes 50 years to degrade.
Styrofoam – Takes 80 years to degrade.
Aluminium – Takes 200 years to degrade.
Plastic packaging – Takes 400 years to degrade.
Glass – It takes so long to degrade that we don’t know the exact time.

bionic eyes ,eye for the blind?

In a pioneering research, scientists claim to be developing bionic eyes for the blind, which they say will be ready for human trials by 2013.

An international team, led by Monash University, says the bionic eye implant will suit people who have lost their sight through traumatic injury or tumours, as well as for those with diseases affecting eyes like glaucoma and retinal disorders. "We have made significant progress since beginning last year and are confident we will have a device that could treat the majority of patients who are clinically blind," said team leader Arthur Lowery. He added, "Our device will directly stimulate the brain's vision centre using a miniaturised implant. The implant is fed with signals from a camera that have been processed to extract the most useful information , depending on what the user needs. The implant has many tiles, each with 45 electrodes , designed to give over 650 pixels in all. Due to the powerful and adaptable signal processing ,I believe this number of electrodes can provide invaluable situational awareness to the user. The device can also be tuned for use in different environments, both indoors and outdoors."
It does not require a functioning eyeball or optic nerve or visual pathways from the eye to the brain.

Effects of Cutting TREEs

Erosion of Soil
When forest areas are cleared, it results in exposing the soil to the sun, making it very dry and eventually, infertile, due to volatile nutrients such as nitrogen being lost. In addition, when there is rainfall, it washes away the rest of the nutrients, which flow with the rainwater into waterways. Because of this, merely replanting trees may not help in solving the problems caused by deforestation, for by the time the trees mature, the soil will be totally devoid of essential nutrients. Ultimately, cultivation in this land will also become impossible, resulting in the land becoming useless. Large tracts of land will be rendered permanently impoverished due to soil erosion.

Disruption of the Water Cycle
Trees contribute in a large way in maintaining the water cycle. They draw up water via their roots, which is then released into the atmosphere. A large part of the water that circulates in the ecosystem of rainforests, for instance, remains inside the plants. When these trees are cut down it results in the climate getting drier in that area. The groundwater tables are affected and soon get depleted. The trees help in prevention of running off of water and help the soil absorb the flowing water. When there are no trees, water just runs off, leaving no chance for the groundwater tables to absorb more water. Thus, ultimately leading to reduction in water resources.

Loss of Biodiversity
The unique biodiversity of various geographical areas is being lost on a scale that is quite unprecedented. Even though tropical rainforest make up just 6 percent of the surface area of the Earth, about 80-90 percent of the entire species of the world exist here. Due to massive deforestation, about 50 to 100 species of animals are being lost each day. The outcome of which is the extinction of animals and plants on a massive scale. The deforestation effects on animals is very heartbreaking. They not only lose their habitat and protective cover, they are pushed to extinction. Many beautiful creatures, both plants and animals have vanished from the face of the earth.

Flooding and Drought
One of the vital functions of forests is to absorb and store great amounts of water quickly when there are heavy rains. When forests are cut down, this regulation of the flow of water is disrupted, which leads to alternating periods of flood and then drought in the affected area. Thus, leading to disruption of human settlements and loss of life in thousands.

Climate Change
It is well-known that global warming is being caused largely due to emissions of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. However, what is not known quite as well is that deforestation has a direction association with carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. Trees act as a major storage depot for carbon, since they absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, which is then used to produce carbohydrates, fats, and proteins that make up trees. When deforestation occurs, many of the trees are burnt or they are allowed to rot, which results in releasing the carbon that is stored in them as carbon dioxide. This, in turn, leads to greater concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

These are just a few of the causes and effects of deforestation. The consequences of deforestation are very unpleasant as every form of life on earth is interlinked with one another. Not only do animals lose their homes, but humans dependent on the local ecology are also affected. The water cycle gets disturbed leading to floods and droughts. People dependent on the forests for their survival lose their livelihood. Global warming is another problem looming over our heads. Cutting tree causes and its effects can be stopped to some extent, if we all do our bit towards the environment. Reduce emissions by avoiding use of cars and bikes indiscriminately. Make our factories more cleaner and monitor their emissions. Develop better ways of farming that help increase the yield without having an impact on the neighboring forest areas.  Reforestation of lost areas and following sustainable practices will help us balance our green cover. Remember, trees give us life, without them it will be impossible to sustain life.

     Like in many other parts of the globe, the North Eastern Region of our country including Assam is also, at present, facing two major challenges. The first relates to the major damage to the environment and the earth's natural resources, including the threat of climate change. The second stems from the chronic and persistent poverty among the majority of the people of the region. The problems are so acute in the region that the nexus between poverty, environment and development is very apparent. Both these challenges underline the demand for pursue the goal of sustainable development. Solutions to these problems require unprecedented efforts on the part of governments, corporate organizations, civil society and the NGOs.
        Poverty reduction and sustainable economic growth are essential elements of sustainable development. Science & technology will play a very important role and science & technology institutes and organizations and NGOs should come forward to take up activities so that the poor may raise themselves out of poverty using natural resources sustainably.

I hope that as I move into this next decade of my life experience I can live with value and integrity, engaged and present in all interactions I am blessd to experience. I also have a big birthday coming up so I too have looked over my life and what I have done and what I want to do and it always comes back to how satisfied I am with all of the pieces of life. It has been a long year of redistributing my time and resources, cleaning out the weeds, and expressing my highest ideal as often as possible- It is a daily journey for me to live in a way that I can feel connected, feel authentic, and feel that I am at one with all of those around me.
I like that you use the word Significance. I believe that we are all looking for meaning in this life and that it manifests in different lifestyles for each of us. I believe in the notion that every single person wants to feel Loved, and therefore that their life has Meaning or that they are Significant in some way- as a part of something greater than themselves. This can show up in their relationships, their careers, or their hobbies- for me the “significant based action” is a broad stroke on the canvas and that the details will depend on the individual. I don’t see it as a barrier at all- if it is based on a Virtue not a Goal or Expectation of Achievement.
People do not strive for Mediocrity- they strive for Validation, for Meaning, for Love and Significance. It is all the same thing for me.
What is my barometer?
My religion is Love. Plain and simple. Love each and every person (including myself) with honor, respect, without jealousy or pride, an open heart, without shame or contempt, each and every second of the day. Do I always hit the mark? No way… being human leaves me in a constant struggle for this balance- but with a clear goal (a simple virtue or mantra to live by) and a simple checklist I have seen much more success in this endeavor- the details of life become secondary as does my job, my apt, my “things” because how I define success is in the moment to moment- the journey not the destination.
I have surrounded myself with a tribe of people who feel the same way, work that allows and encourages me to this end, and I seek out new opportunities to explore the boundaries and to play with the edges of my Love practice.

Dhoom MACHALE

The first film made John Abraham one of the most sought after anti-heroes of recent times. The second, made us want to fall in love with the hunky thief Hrithik Roshan. And now, the third, promises to make Aamir Khan the new bad man in Bollywood.

YRF's most popular franchise Dhoom, has become bigger with every part. And if you thought after Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif, it couldn't get any bigger, think again. Mumbai Mirror has learnt that Aditya Chopra has already chalked out plans for Dhoom 4 and Dhoom 5. And 'surprising' is too mild a word to describe Adi Chopra's big plans. Mr Adi, who plans to wrap up the franchise with the fifth part, has already decided to cast Salman Khan in the fourth part and none other than his good friend and YRF favourite Shah Rukh Khan in the fifth. However, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Choprawill continue to play their respective roles of Inspector Jai Dixit and Ali. Vijay Krishna Acharya will be working on the script for both the parts.

in a interview  “Zoom channel” Salman Khan said that,  he wanted to work in a stylish action film. And Adi had discussed the possibility of Dhoom 4 with him. Salman had agreed. That's how they ended up working on Ek Tha Tiger. The script of Dhoom 4 is already locked. The final draft is in process.

However, work on the fifth part that will star SRK is still to begin. "Adi has his hands full with Yash Chopra's directorial at the moment. Adi wants to end the Dhoom franchise with its fifth part. The plans for the last two parts are currently being kept under wraps,".

NUMB

as the sun rises,
like a zombie,
trapped in this dream
i watch life pass by;

i wandered alone,
fighting all that came in my way,
struggling to make sense of this
war, that does not seem to stop;

a shell of what i used to be,
i wear a mask to hide me from
the vultures that prowl all around,
wanting something to chew on;

no emotion,
no pain and,
no happiness,
just a haunted emptiness;

yelling and screaming,
hiding behind closed doors,
watching life pass by
with my empty eyes;

alone i sit,
in the grip of darkness,
as the arms of silence slowly engulf me,
a strange numbess takes over me;

Thursday, 22 March 2012

Tips For winter workout

                    Winter season , one of the first things that goes down with it is gym attendance. Well, it is understandable, given how much more difficult it is to be able to get up and out of the warmth of the blanket every morning in winter. But if you care about your health, you better not push that snooze button on your alarm clock! And while it is important to exercise, it is equally important to exercise in the right way, especially during winter. Without proper safety measures, heavy exercise can cause damage to your body.

Here are some tips for a healthy exercise routine:
·         Warm-Up: Winter makes your muscles tighter so it is very important to warm up before exercising in winter. Jumping straight into your exercise can cause immense harm, even when temperatures are warm.
·         Insulation: Just because exercising can make you feel warm, doesn't mean that you ignore the sweaters. Wear several layers and don’t expose yourself to the elements. It could increase your risk of falling ill or catching a chill.
·         Water: Don’t neglect your intake of fluids just because you don't feel that thirsty. It is very important to keep yourself hydrated while exercising, in winters or summers.
·         Post-exercise care: Don’t immediately jump into a cold bath, or strip off your layers after your exercise. A condition known as post-exercise hypothermia could set in when the body rapidly loses the heat it has accumulated. Take it slowly. Sit for a while and cool off before you jump into a bath.
These are some simple and effective exercising tips to keep in mind while exercising in winter. But an additional thing you can do to keep fit in winter is walk. It is so much easier to walk when the temperatures are not in the searing thirties and forties. Take advantage of the weather and let the car stay in the parking lot. Walk your way to health!

Lets wOrk togEthEr

                                   it has been called everything from the “greatest HOAX ever perpetrated on mankind” to the “greatest challenge to face man”. There have been conventions, coalitions, and conferences held in its name. Hundreds of politicians have discussed, debated and even come to agree on possible solutions armed with which we might stand and face its impending challenge. Thousands of scientists have released studies, statements, and reports documenting its harmful and possibly even apocalyptic consequences for all of the world’s biodiversity. Millions of people have individually altered their own lifestyles and together they have walked and run and biked in fierce protest. The issue at hand is climate change, and it has literally and figuratively taken every corner of our world by storm.
StOp Global warming
Stop cutting Trees and Start Planting Trees
start Using Bicycle instead of Motor Vehicles
Start Using Public Transport instead of Car
Start Using Solar Energy
This is about survival. This is  the journey towards unifying our growing world and repairing the damage we have done, in the interests of both present and future generations of life.we need   the diplomatic and policy-building tools to tackle the environmental and ensuing social challenges the world currently faces.

YoGiC

                                            Yoga is a traditional method of meditation developed by the saints of ancient India. They practiced yoga as an effective method of controlling their mind and bodily activities.
Yoga in Daily Life is a system of practice consisting of eight levels of development in the areas of physical, mental, social and spiritual health.
When the body is physically healthy, the mind is clear, focused and stress is under control. This gives the space to connect with loved ones and maintain socially healthy relationships. When you are healthy you are in touch with your inner Self, with others and your surroundings on a much deeper level, which adds to your spiritual health.
The most important benefit of yoga is physical and mental therapy. The aging process, which is largely an artificial condition, caused mainly by autointoxication or self-poisoning, can be slowed down by practicing yoga. By keeping the body cleans, flexible and well lubricated. To get the maximum benefits of yoga one has to combine the practices of yogasanas, pranayama and meditation.
Regular practice of asanas, pranayama and meditation can help such diverse ailments such as diabetes, blood pressure, digestive disorders, arthritis, arteriosclerosis, chronic fatigue, asthma, varicose veins and heart conditions. Laboratory tests have proved the yogi's increased abilities of consciously controlling autonomic or involuntary functions, such as temperature, heartbeat and blood pressure. Research into the effects of yogic practices on HIV is currently underway with promising results.

Ya know, I’ve actually wanted to write about this for a while, so rather than lay it out here, I am going to post about it in more detail next week and let’s continue the discussion then............

Fuccck... I m drunk

Love Is ............

                                Romance really does work in a similar manner as addiction to illegal substances and activates a reaction in the same part of the brain. Those strike with a firm blow will produce an emotional response, which usually involved with motivation and reward kind of stuff. The reward comes by identifying that something feels good and is worth the effort.

Our brains have been hardwired to choose a mate, and we become so motivated to win them over that we are sometimes willing to go to extreme lengths, the “Daily Mail” reported.

"You can feel happy when you're in love, but you can also feel anxious," said Lucy Brown, a neuroscientist at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Professor Brown insisted that the reward part of the brain or pleasure centre is vital for our survival as this drives the need to have sex.

"Intense passionate love uses the same system in the brain that gets activated when a person is addicted to drugs," co-author Arthur Aron, a psychologist at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, said.

need For awarness

                                           Our survival and development  depends on symbiotic interaction with his physical ,social, culture, economic and political  environment .primitive, man managed his existence by leading a hunting and nomadic way of life . Modern man equipped with knowledge and technological skill in rapidly changing the face of earth. I believe everyone know the fact, this vital damage of resource could result shortages of all type.
Human activities never been friendly to the biosphere. This awareness can be achieved only by certain measures like motivating people to adopt environment friendly practice.
we are the custodian , not the master of the planets natural resources. We are earthly being but the earth doesnt belong to us . we share the life in a support system which contain millions of other species too.

                                              Two-and-a-half  months ago. I started out from a very dark place. I was in deep depression because I was laid up in bed thanks to my back. I was eating all kinds of junk food - all the cupcakes and brownies that people were sending me to make me feel better. I was in a very bad state emotionally. With all the education I have about health and fitness, I didn't see a way out in the short time I had to prepare for LiFe. Which is why I want to share this transformation tale with the world. I want to break the myth and tell people that we are all the same. We all can get in that state of rut, we all can get unhappy, but there is a way to bounce back. Being sexy is just a state of mind. My aim when I woke up that morning and took that "fat" picture of myself was to get so healthy that I would never be in pain again. I've lived through so many injuries and so much pain, that I can count on my fingers the days when I was pain free. I decided I needed to explore this possibility of the human body in a way that has not been done. My goal was to be pain free; the aesthetics is just a by-product of me wanting to be healthy.
